About The Bridgeline

The Bridgeline is a local newsletter for Johns Creek, Georgia. It goes out Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday mornings and covers one city properly rather than seven cities thinly.

Johns Creek is a city of roughly 82,000 people that was incorporated in 2006, and it is covered the way most suburbs are covered: occasionally, from Atlanta, when something goes wrong. Council meets, zoning changes, a road closes, a school does something worth knowing about, and most of it never reaches the people it affects.

That is the gap. Not a shortage of news, a shortage of anyone whose job it is to notice. The Bridgeline reads the agendas, the police reports, the permit filings, and the school calendars, and sends you the parts that matter in about four minutes.

The name comes from the crossings. Medlock Bridge, State Bridge, Abbotts Bridge, Jones Bridge. Johns Creek is a city defined by its river and the four ways over it, and those bridges are where the city actually meets.

Every issue is built from the same beats: Top of Mind, Council Watch, The Drive, Neighbors, Parks and Trails, School Beat, Building Johns Creek, The Commons, Calendar, and One More Thing. Not every beat runs every time. What runs is whatever actually happened.
